Homemade lard with cracklings
Ingredients:
400 g of lard, diced, skinless
1 large onions
1 large apple
100 g of smoked bacon
1/2 teaspoon marjoram salt to taste
Execution: Put the diced bacon on the frying pan, add salt and melt on a small gauze for about 25 minutes. When the greaves are browned, add the diced onions and bacon. Fry for another 15 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally. Then add the peeled and grated apple. Stir gently until the apple becomes glassy. Season with herbs and salt. Put into containers, stir while cooling down. Such lard can be kept for up to 2 weeks.
