Olive oil- how to make
Part 1. Preparation of olives Step 1. Choosing olives Part 2. Thorough washing Put the olives in a colander or a sieve and rinse under running water. Use your fingers to wipe off any dirt. After rinsing , drain exess water and dry olives with clean paper towel. Part 2. Grinding and pressing Step 1. Put olives in a dish Put olives in fairly deep dish to keep them in same place while crushing Step 2. Grinding the olives Use hammer or something with flat bottom ( glass or glass botle), crush olives in thick paste. Step 3. transfer olives into glass Transfer olive pulp to glass without overflowing. Step 4. combine paste with water Pour about 2-3 tablespoons of hot water for every 250ml of olive pulp You should quikly mix the contents of glass with water to evenly distribute the water in a slurry Step 5. Use immersion blender Using a blender , grind the olives untill oil drops start to pour out to the top The longer process takes and the more often pulp is mixed the more oil olives will release Part 3. Oil extraction Step 1. Stir the mush Stir the mush using spoon and stir vigorously for few minutes until oil begins to seperate Step 2. Loosly cover dish with clean cloth Cover loosely with cloth or paper towel and let it sit for 5-10 minutes Step 3. Put gauze on strainer Cut peace almost 2 imes bigger than sieve intel and center it in sieve.Then put strainer on a large bowl Step 4. Pour olive pulp into strainer Pour olive pulp over the center of gauze and wrap sides of gauze over pulp Step 5. Put the weight down Lay a block of wood or something with simmilar weight should be heavy enough to actively press down on the bundle It is best tomwrap weight with foil so that impuries won’t get in Step 6. Let the liquid drain Allow olive oil and olive juice drain. Do that for at least 30 minutes Step 7. Pour oil out Place tip of syringe just beneath the surface of fluid . Carefully draw out top layer , leave bottom layer . Transfer oil to seperate glass Part 4. Oil storage Step 1. Pour olive oil into clean botle Put funnel in a glass bottle and then pour collected oil Step 2.
